"Trade Show Flooring is as important to an exhibitors display as shoes are to a suit."
Trade Show Flooring, while in many minds is merey thought of as something to cover the concrete is definitely and important factor in just about any trade show display.
First of all, let look at carpeting in general. Carpeting, is manufactured to be installed once. That's it. Many companies invest in trade show flooring, but, miss the little trick that can extend the life of any carpet.
Trade show flooring is often compared to a good pair of shoes. Imagine your trade show display as your best suit. Make sure you pick the right flooring to compliment the rest of your display. It's more important than you think.
Let's say you are going to an important event in your new suite. If you did not wear the right pair of shoes, then this would distract from the rest of your ensemble. People often will remember the ratty brown shoes, but they don't remember the new suit, do they?
Flooring is important and the type of choose needs to compliment your display.

How do I know what kind of flooring to choose?
The two major factors that come into play with flooring for many trade show displays is design and budget.
While there are many factors in choosing flooring lets look at the most common topics that influence the decision.
Smaller displays, specifically in-line 10 x 10 and 10 x 20 prefer interlocking flooring due to the cost of shipping and storing. While it take just a little longer to install this type of trade show flooring, the results and saving are worth it. In some cases, event with larger island trade show displays, design or frequency of use, may make interlocking trade show flooring a more economical approach.
Frequency of Use
Unfortunately, Trade Show carpet is a disposable item. It most likely will not last as long as your display. Due to the way trade show carpet is manufactured, it will begin to be less appealing after each use. This deterioration is exponential . This is especially true with longer runs such as 10 x 30 or 10 x 50. The more times you plan to use a piece of carpet, the higher quality you should consider.
For 1 or 2 shows per year, consider 34oz with premium padding. For 3 or more, consider 50oz with premium padding.
TIP: Save the Tubes!
This is not the rally cry for some radical surfer environmental group. In general, carpet is designed to be installed only once in your home, office etc,. When trade show carpet is delivered new, it is rolled on a tube. In many cases the tubes are discarded during installation. If you save the tubes ( be sure to place an EMPTY sticker on EACH ONE and pack with the rest of your exhibit property) then when the trade show carpet is taken up after the event, it can be re-rolled back onto the tube. This will keep the carpet from changing shape , or flattening, under its own weight in transit and storage thereby saving the backing and extending the life.
To further extend the life of the carpet, I personally tightly shrink wrap carpet sections. This can also help to extend the life of the carpet.
If the design calls for premium flooring such as 50 ounce trade show carpet or interlocking trade show flooring, then our consultants will help you choose the right premium system .
Rental versus Purchase?
Trade Show Carpet available from Moose Exhibits is generally new carpet delivered directly from the manufacturer. Rental of this carpet assures that your carpet is new and fresh every time. Moose also has a revolving inventory of trade show carpet with little use (usually one show) This carpet is available at a discounted price.
What grade of carpeting should I buy?
This is determined by personal preference and frequency of use. The more shows you plan to get out your trade show carpet, the higher grade you should purchase. Remember that lighter color carpets soil easier and faster and will not last as long as darker colored trade show carpet.
